State Police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following:

• Police were summoned at 3:44 p.m. Oct. 14 to a location at Route 115 and Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township, for a report of harassment by physical contact.

Police said a girl told them she felt uncomfortable when a suspect hugged her. The interview was conducted in the presence of the girl’s mother, police said.

• Frank Staines, 52, of White Haven, has been charged with theft and related counts for an incident at the Youth Forestry Camp in White Haven. Troopers said Staines was a former employee of the camp and stole two bags of miscellaneous items. He has since been fired, troopers said. The incident was reported on Sept. 29 at 12:33 a.m.

• Joel Francisco, 38, of Bushkill, is facing a driving under the influence charge. Troopers said he was observed driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Sept. 24 at 5:25 p.m. along Interstate 80 westbound in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County.

• Brian Feeley, 29, of Effort, has been charged with harassment by communication. Troopers said a 44-year-old woman from Effort paid Feeley for services provided for her business. There was a conflict in the work provided by Feeley and he was harassing the victim via text messages. Feeley also threatened to slander the victim’s business name and was texting in an annoyance manner, troopers said.

• Troopers said Nathan Smith, 44, of Albrightsville, is facing a DUI charge following an incident on Sept. 22 at 7:26 a.m. along Lauff Lane at Route 115, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County.

• Troopers said on Sept. 17 at 12:14 a.m. an incident occurred at the Mount Pocahontas Property Owners Association board meeting along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said as a 67-year-old woman from Albrightsville, was making a comment when a 66-year-old man from Albrightsville began to yell at her which resulted in an argument. The victim’s husband, 66, entered into the altercation. As a result the two men were both cited for harassment. Troopers declined to identify the two suspects.

• Troopers said a residence along Souix Circle in Penn Forest Township, was reported to be robbed on Sept. 15 at 4:17 p.m.

A 35-year-old man from Jim Thorpe reported the following items were taken: a can of beer, Samsung Galaxy cellphone, Amazon gift cards, a men’s mountain bike, $25 in cash and some loose change.

Troopers noted a juvenile suspect has been identified and that the investigation is continuing.

• Items were stolen from vehicles in East Side Boro, Carbon County.

Troopers said sometime on Sept. 21, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., three vehicles that were parked at the East Side Inn, off Route 534 at Getz Hill Road, were entered with various items taken.

The catalytic converters of the vehicles were also removed.

Among the items removed from the vehicles were driver’s licenses, birth certificate, Social Security card, a gun valued at $900, $200 in cash and a credit card. The converters are valued at $1,5000 apiece.

The vehicles involved were a 2018 Ford F-150 truck, a 2014 Jeep and a 2021 Toyota van.

• On Oct. 7 at 3:41 p.m. troopers responded to the Dollar General Store, located along Route 903. Troopers said someone entered the store and began to damage property on the shelves. The suspect, who was not identified by troopers, was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Damages to the store totaled $805.80.

• On Oct. 16 at 10:50 a.m. troopers responded to Route 903 for a report of harassment. On scene troopers learned a 15-year-old boy from Penn Forest Township, had harassed a 18-year-old man from Philadelphia.

The 15-year-old was issued a citation for harassment - physical contact.

• A stop made by police for a moving violation (speeding) has resulted in the driver being charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police said Elwyn Adams, 36, of Williamsport, was driving a 2007 Toyota that was stopped at 2749 Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Police said he had marijuana.

• A 36-year-old Albrightsville man is charged with simple assault and harassment after a domestic incident at 7:39 a.m. Oct. 14 along Brittany Drive in Penn Forest Township.

The victims are a 35-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl, also from Albrightsville. Police did not provide any additional information on the incident.
