Charles S. Snyder, Inc., a West Penn Township firm specializing in farm equipment founded during the Great Depression, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this week.

An anniversary dinner was held by the firm at the Mahoning Valley Ambulance Building where special recognition was given to some of the longtime customers of Snyder.

Marsha Thomas, a granddaughter of the founder, in a narration of the history of the firm, noted the first tractor sold by Snyder’s was to Andrew Bolish of Weatherly on Nov. 21, 1940.

Through the years, Snyder has carried merchandise of the lines of New Holland, Toro, Stihl and Kubota.
