State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• On Sept. 18 at 3:13 p.m. troopers responded to Franklin Heights Road in Franklin Township for a report of a disturbance. A 58-year-old man from Lehighton said that he was struck by Jason Eidem, 49, also of Lehighton. Eidem was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct.

• On Oct. 3 at 7:18 p.m. a 2011 Honda Accord driven by a 44-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was stopped for a vehicle code violation along Lincoln Avenue in Bowmanstown. He was suspected for DUI but refused to submit to testing. Charges will be filed.

• A vehicle was stopped at 8:48 p.m. on Sept. 30 at White and Forge streets in Weissport for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 54-year-old man from Weissport, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are pending test results, troopers said.

• A 22-year-old Palmerton woman was cited for harassment after state police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned at 8:09 p.m. Sept. 30 to the intersection of Cornell and Second streets in Lower Towamensing Township.

• Police investigated a cruelty to animals report at 6:05 p.m. Sept. 29

Police said they were called to Molasses Valley Road in Eldred Township but after an investigation determined no crimes were committed.

• A 28-year-old Penn Forest Township man reported someone used his identifying information to open a fraudulent account between Aug. 30 and Sept. 12. Police said the victim did not report any personal financial assets stolen.

• A 35-year-old East Stroudsburg man was charged by state police at the Lehighton barracks with terroristic threats after they were called to Acorn Drive, Polk Township, at 4:51 p.m. Sept. 26.

The victim is a 38-year-old man from Kunkletown who reported threatening text messages that included direct threats of violence against them and his family.

• On Oct. 15 at 4:16 p.m. troopers responded to the Family Dollar Store, East Patterson Street, Lansford, for an incident in which Jonathan Eckerd, 32, of Lansford, threw a Bluetooth speaker at a store employee and stole two packs of cigarettes.

He was charged with retail theft and harassment. Value of the stolen items was $11.97.

• Troopers also reported on Oct. 16 at 12:32 a.m. they responded to East Kline Avenue in Lansford for a physical harassment incident. Troopers said a 40-year-old man from Lansford was charged with harassment - physical contact.
