Grief and Loss Support Group

The Monthly Grief and Loss Support Group meets twice a month a month at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m., and the fourth Thursday at 6 p.m.

The group is presently being held on a web platform and is directed by Professional Counselor, Sue Featro. This group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss, or death. It is an effort to assist people in the surrounding community to heal and find peace.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525.

It you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Communion will be served. Please remember to bring food items for the food pantry.

Bible Study is in Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Participants sought for parade

The Palmerton Veterans Day Parade Committee is issuing a call for floats, vendors, and participants for the 50th annual Carbon County Veterans Day Parade to be held in Palmerton Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a rain date of Nov. 13.

Any vendor or organization interested in participating can get a registration form online at www.carboncountypa.gov or by calling Christine LeClair at 570-325-3986, Renee Slakoper at 570-242-3289, or Ed Moyer at 570-325-9657.

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat will be held in the Palmerton Borough on Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. If you would like to participate in this fun event, please have your porch light on.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will have its doors open for Trick or Treat fun.

Halloween Parade

The Palmerton Halloween Parade will be held on Oct. 16 starting at 4 p.m. and forming at 2:30 p.m. Raindate is Oct. 17 starting at 7 p.m. and forming at 6 p.m.

The parade route will form at 7th St. and Franklin Ave. The parade will go on 7th St. to Lafayette Ave., turn left and go to Third St., turn left on Third St. to Franklin Ave., turn left on Franklin Ave. back to Third St., and right on Third St. back to Delaware Ave., turn left on Delaware Ave. back to 7th St to disband.

Palmerton Borough

The October meetings of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held Oct. 13 and 27. The Council meeting in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Towamensing PTO

The 27th Annual Towamensing PTO Craft Fair & Basket Social will be held Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Towamensing Elementary School, 7920 Interchange Road, Lehighton. They will be host to over 40 crafters and vendors, a basket social with close to 100 baskets to choose from, food sale, and bake sale. Proceeds benefit the Towamensing Elementary students.
