Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with the Rev. Rob Timlin.

At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person or in the parking lot by tuning the radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise.

Oct. 9- Prayer Shawl Ministry will have a prayer shawl dedication.

Oct. 10- Church Council Meeting at 7 p.m.

Oct. 18- The Quilt Group will meet at 10 a.m.

Oct. 16, 23 and 30- Impact Youth Group will meet at 7 p.m.

Oct. 19 and 26- Silver Sisters Exercise will meet at 10 a.m. for easy exercise, fun, and worship songs. All women are invited.

Oct. 22 from 5-7 p.m. is a Soup Social Fundraiser. This event is open to the community. The church is asking for a monetary donation at the soup social to benefit CACPAC (Cristian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches). They help the needy families in the Palmerton Area. A sign up sheet is available at the church or call the church office.

October Missions:

Operation Christmas Child: This mission brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.

ABC Food Pantry is available for those in need. We also welcome canned goods and nonperishable food items to be donated. Contact the church office if you are in a need of help or if you want to donate.

Micah’s Backpack Program is serving the needs of needy students in the Palmerton School District. Check the church website with a list of food items we need to continue this great mission.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, holds Sunday Worship Service in the church grove at 10 a.m. Pastor Marion leads the worship.

You can also remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after the service.

Family Campfire will be held Friday from 7-10 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and your favorite beverage and snacks.

Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo

Hosted by the Sew What Quilt Guild, a Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo is Oct. 9 at the Palmerton Library. Door opens at noon. Games begin at 1 p.m. Seating is limited and masks are optional.

For tickets and information call the library at 610-826-3424. All proceeds benefit the Palmerton Area Library.

Basket Spectacular

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will hold its Fall Basket Spectacular to Benefit the Palmerton Community on Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Towamensing Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road Palmerton. Lunch will be available, including a variety of homemade soups, BBQ, filling, and more; as well as a bake sale.

Tickets can be pre-purchased at the Palmerton Library or on the day of the event.
