Fire companies from Schuylkill and adjoining counties are battling a multiple alarm fire in Mahanoy City. The fire was reported around 8 p.m. at 132 East Mahanoy Street. When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the dwelling. The flames quickly spread to adjoining structures with four homes now involved.
