Chestnuthill Township Supervisor Rob Baxter resigned from his post during the recent board of supervisors meeting. Baxter’s term does not expire until Dec. 31, 2027 but he moved to Massachusetts.
“I have the utmost admiration and professional respect for the staff, and employees, supervisors and other affiliated professionals I have come to know over the last few years,” he read. “Everyone comes to work with a dedication to the job. We have a sense of teamwork that exceeds any other organization I have worked with, or been part of in both public and private experiences. And I’m very proud to have been part of the Chestnuthill Township organization.”
Chairman Chuck Gould thanked Baxter and wished him well going forward.
Baxter was a founding member of the Pocono Heritage Land Trust and served on their board until just recently as chair of the Acquisitions Committee. He was also a member of the Chestnuthill Township’s Historical Society.
The supervisors accepted Baxter’s resignation, and then made a motion to make a plan to advertise the vacant seat.
Deadline is Oct. 17.
