Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Sept. 15 with 26 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “The Season of September.”

A moment of silence was observed for Shirley Kaiser as she is hospitalized. September birthdays celebrated: Nancy Eisley, Joyce Krell, Ruthann Feane, Buddy Feinhuer, Roberta Hollenbach.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The Zion men will meet at the Memorial Hall on Sept. 24 at 8 a.m. Women’s Bible study group will meet Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

St. Peter’s West Penn

Sept. 25: 9 a.m. Worship Service; 10:15 a.m. Sunday school; Apple Dumpling orders due; 6 p.m. Girl Scouts

Sept. 29: 6 p.m. Cherub Choir rehearsal; 7:30 p.m. Senior Choir rehearsal.

Oct. 2: 9 a.m. Worship Service, Worldwide Communion; 10:15 a.m. Sunday school; 6 p.m. Girl Scouts

Garden Club

The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Zion Church Social Hall in Lewistown Valley. This will be the Members’ Tea.

Each member is asked to bring a $10 gift for the auction, finger foods and dessert, a teacup and don’t forget to wear your fancy hat. Program will be presented by Leah Zerbe on native plants.
