The Rev. John Diehl, acting rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Jim Thorpe, was honored at a luncheon reception held Sunday in the Great Hall of the church.

He will leave St. Mark’s effective Oct. 1 to become Canon Pastor of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Harrisburg after a period of 11 months at the historic Race Street church.

Mrs. Nellie Pompa, committee chairlady, presented him a monogrammed wallet and cash purse while John Herbert, senior warden, presented the departing clergyman a St. Mark’s souvenir dinner plate as a memento of his stay in the county-seat borough.
