Crafts take stage at Palmerton festival
Unique crafts have always been a highlight of the Palmerton Community Festival in the borough’s community park.
New craft coordinator Elizabeth Campbell is continuing the tradition with a variety of artisans. Some are returning favorites and others are new ones you won’t want to miss.
Campbell is displaying snack bags, pouches and dog bandannas made from fabric she has designed herself. The kindergarten aide transfers her art to a fabric through an online company and has a site, Lizzy Sue and Her 2 on Etsy.
She is excited to be taking over the selection of artisans for the festival. “I am blown away by how talented people are,” Campbell said.
Some returning vendors include Janelle Farkas, with Wild Edge Wellness herbal products; Sarah Binder with Sincerely Sarah jewelry; Carolina Licata, Mountain Ridge Farm honey; and Bridget White, White confections.
Kathy Snyder is bringing Lily Bean Cottage Scents and Jyneal Green is bringing Green’s Hand-painted Signs and More.
Other artisans include: Terri Trotter of 3rd Street Studio, polymer clay tumblers; Dawn Remiszewski, Dawn’s Acrylic Creations; Mary Ann Grant, rustic wood items; Kylie Getch, Mama Maylene Design Company; Brittany Musser, Botanical Creations; and Susan Walker, Crafts from the Heart.
Some returning favorites are Trish DeSousa, Bevels and Warp; Cindy Johnson, Take a Gander; Carla Binder, Taking Deeper Roots; Ryan Roombe, Grizzly’s Leather; Donna Balliet, Love4Art Studio and Kountry Krafts treasures; Shane George, Shane George Arts; and Sherry Bishop of Bishop’s Creations.

Visitors will want to check out Sharon Solt’s Blue Mountain Gnomes and Nicole Kemmerer’s diamond art paintings.
You can buy crafts or make them yourself. Lisa Newhart of Just Stringing Around and AnnMarie Bossard of Bossards Board Works are bringing back their popular classes.
The festival is open from 5 to 11 p.m. tonight, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
