Two people were injured Thursday afternoon in a crash in Rush Township.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the intersection of Route 309 and Ben Titus Road involving a car and a sport utility vehicle.

Two occupants of the car were treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance before being transported to a nearby trauma center.

The driver of the SUV refused medical treatment.

Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
