A Nesquehoning woman posted bail on charges she struck her husband with her station wagon while in McAdoo on Aug. 27.
According to state police, troopers were called to a residence on West Garfield St. at 5 a.m. for a report that a vehicle crashed into a building.
Troopers said the driver, Kiersten Singh, 34, was traveling to Hazleton with her husband and their 2 year-old child. Singh told her husband that she wanted to stop at her ex-boyfriend’s house. When they arrived, Singh’s husband got out of the vehicle and walked onto the sidewalk. Singh began blowing the horn, and when her husband told her to stop, she began yelling at him. Meanwhile, the ex-boyfriend left his home.
Police said Singh reversed her car for 15 to 30 feet, then accelerated toward her husband. She drove over the sidewalk, and struck her husband in the left leg, causing him to land on top of a chain link fence. Troopers said Singh continued through the fence then struck another fence before the vehicle came to rest in the backyards of two homes on South Hancock Street.
The incident was caught on surveillance video, police said.
Her husband was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton for treatment.
Police charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, and sent to the Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 cash bail. She posted bail three days later.
