Northern Lehigh defeats Northwestern 34-27 in a thriller in Slatington; Bangor beats Jim Thorpe 29-7

Northern Lehigh defeated Northwestern 34-27 in a match-up of Colonial/Schuylkill League contenders tonight in Slatington.

Izaiah Ramos scored the game-winning touchdown on a 3-yard run and Chase Moffit made the extra point kick.

The Bulldogs (2-0 overall, 2-0 league) led 27-13 midway through the third quarter, but the Tigers (1-1, 1-1) scored twice to tie the game at 27.

The Tigers pulled even on a Cade Christopher 65-yard punt return and a two-point conversion.

Ramos put Northern Lehigh on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run. He also scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter.

Nick Frame added a 1-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Christopher scored on a 4-yard run for the Tigers, and Ayden Oswald scored on a 2-yard run for the Bulldogs.

Northwestern pulled to within 8 points at 27-19 when Christopher threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to Seth Kern. The extra point kick was blocked.

Northwestern scored its second quarter touchdown on a 3-yard run by Dalton Clymer.

In Bangor, the Slaters defeated Jim Thorpe 29-7.
