The East Penn Township Fire Department is the most recent benefactor of a donation from a Palmerton organization.
Members of Crusaders for a Cause on Monday donated a set of light up traffic cones, a set of safety vests and traffic wands to the township’s fire police.
Christina Obrecht, president of Crusaders for a Cause, said the donation was for $500.
Obrecht said the funds were raised from its 16th annual spring carnival in May in the borough park.
“We spread it out,” Obrecht said. “They emailed us a request asking for fire police equipment.”
Township fire Chief Brenden McArdle said the items will be especially useful to the fire police.
“We’re very thankful to (Crusaders for a Cause) for the donation,” McArdle said. “We’ll put this equipment to use.”
McArdle said that the department is always looking for more volunteers to play supportive roles within the department.
Obrecht said the group next plans to make a donation to the Palmerton Fire Department.
