A Monroe County man was jailed on Aug. 16 following a domestic dispute, state police at Lehighton said.
Police were called to a residence on New York Blvd. in Effort, Polk Township, for an altercation.
Police said Howard Johnson, 62, assaulted a 54-year-old woman.
Johnson was charged with simple assault and arraigned before a district judge. He was sent to the county jail in Snydersville.
• Troopers also reported the arrest of Allen Graff, 74, of Effort.
Troopers said on Aug. 17 they responded to a residence Weir Mountain Road, in Polk Township, for a fight, and that Graff was charged with disorderly conduct.
