Vincent’s Closet
Our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” now by appointment in our former convent building on 242 N. Third St. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need, and seeks donations of the same. Call the Rectory for more information.
Masses
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day at SS. Peter and Paul Parish by Father Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr., on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. Daily Masses are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 a.m. We welcome you, or welcome you back, to worship the Lord at our parish.
The Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer every Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m. We are particularly in need of adorers between 6 and 9 p.m.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m., and 45 minutes before Masses on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Services available
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown is accepting appointments and walk-ins at the parish convent building every Thursday from 9 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Services include: individual, marriage, and family counseling; pregnancy and parenting support (counseling, material assistance such as diapers, wipes, baby items); and supportive services (case management, material assistance, emergency rental assistance, referrals). Clothing drive
This is the last weekend for our clothing drive. Besides clothing, items can include shoes, bags, hats; soft household items such as towels, bed sheets, and curtains; and small toys 2 feet or less in size (stuffed animals, bikes, strollers). Clothing must be bagged and dropped off in the gray modular building behind the church and hall.
What We Believe
On Thursday evenings between Sept. 8 and Nov. 17, we will host a series called “What We Believe,” which presents core Catholic teachings. We are asking $25 per person for materials. The series also will run on Sunday mornings between the Masses. Email Mary at mcmarzen@gmail.com or call the rectory to register.
Community dinner
On Sept. 28 at 6 p.m., our St. Vincent de Paul Society will hold a community dinner. Anyone is welcome for a meal and some fellowship.
Bus trip
The parish is hosting a bus to the Diocesan Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 6. $50 per person. Pilgrims must being their own meals, but the bus will stop for dinner on the way home.
