Concert tonight
Fleetwood Macked Tribute to Fleetwood Mac is the concert happening at the Saylorsburg Blue Ridge Flea Market tonight, with gates opening at 6:15 p.m. and the concert beginning at 7:30.
Season pass holders and members may enter at 6 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at shermantheater.com or the Sherman Theater Box Office.
School board
The Pleasant Valley School Board is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Administrative Building.
Free family flick
St. Peter’s UMC is once again providing a free family flick on Friday. It is the last one of the season and is an animated presentation of “The Croods.” It will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Attendees are asked to provide their own lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, beverages, etc.

Special speaker
St. Peter’s UMC will have special speaker at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Tom Campbell, president of the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network, will use Inspirational Moments to share the vital work the PVEN brings to the West End.
All are invited to hear of the PVEN needs and the successes it has provided local residents.
St. Peter’s offers in-house worship in the sanctuary and Facebook Live streaming by logging on to https://www.facebook.com/petersumc.saylorsburg.
All attendees are invited to a fellowship coffee hour immediately following worship on the second and fourth Sundays to get to know the congregation better.
Monday meeting
Polk Township supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 29, in light of the West End Fair being this week.
Corrected QV dates
The Pocono State Craft Festival returns to the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm on Aug. 27 and 28, not as previously shared due to incorrect information provided.
There will be no regular tours, but the buildings will be open for viewing and staff and volunteers will be on hand to share about the activities that take place on the farm.
There is an admission cost for QV members, children under 12 are free.

Concert Sunday
There will be a free concert in the Saylorsburg Park from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, with music by Last Flight Duo.
It is to be a family friendly time with pets on leashes welcome.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and snacks.
What a tally
The PVEN’s summer lunch program has ended. With help from various people and the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the tally of meals is: June, 699; July, 1,179; and August, 2,298; totaling 4,176 meals.
Officers induction
The West End Memorial American Legion Post 927 will hold its annual Officers Induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Legion Post home in Gilbert.
There will be guest speakers and light refreshments.
Library schedule
The Western Pocono Community Library has several new programs starting in September. They include: Letters of Love on Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m.
Ashley Burney says that WPCL is honored to partner with Letters of Love to provide cards of support to children batting critical illness. Card making supplies will be in the café every Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Read & Play, for ages 2-4, is slated for Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. Read & Play is open reading and play time using the library’s blocks and toys.
On Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Mother Goose Toddler Time for ages 2 to 3, featuring nursery rhymes and songs.
Outdoor worship
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kresgeville extends an invitation for worshippers to join the Sept. 4 worship service being held outdoors at 10:30 a.m. in the Faith garden.
Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and join us directly after at 11 a.m. for some fun with outdoor games, crafts and fellowship.

Blood drives set
Starting in September, the Miller-Keystone blood drive is moving to the second and fourth Monday in the WPCL track area. Appointments must be made directly with Miller-Keystone.

Precious junk
Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, will hold its Precious Junk sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 16 and 17.
Flea market
St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Route 115, Saylorsburg, will host its autumn flea market on Sept. 17, with a rain date of Sept. 24.
Doors will be open for sales from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Food Truck Fest
The West End Fire Company, Brodheadsville, is hosting a food truck festival with rummage sale and tricky tray Sept. 17, at 1 p.m.
Outdoor movie
The Western Pocono Community Library will host a September Outdoor Movie Night at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17. “Encanto!” will be playing. Registration is not required.
Those planning to attend should bring a blanket and flashlight. Any changes due to weather will be posted to the WPCL website and social media.
Breakfast ahead
The Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company will restart its all-you-can-eat buffet style breakfast on Sept. 18. The time is 7 to 11:30 a.m.
Historical society
The Chestnuthill Township Historical Society intends to meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 21.
PVEN fundraiser
The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is holding a flea market/craft fair at Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church’s parking lot, Brodheadsville, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24.
A concession stand will be open for food and drink.

Help needed
Monroe County Habitat for Humanity needs volunteer site supervisors for its home preservation projects.
There are no minimum hour requirements for volunteer site supervisors. One may choose to work on projects that are of interest, make good use of one’s skills, and that meet the needs of the volunteer’s schedule. Most items can be completed in three work days.
