The Slatington 125 Committee, headed by Edward E. Hartman, district magistrate, recently honored its third charter group, “The Brothers and Sisters of the Stars and Stripes” of American Legion Post 16, in preparation for the borough’s quasquicentennial, “A Celebration of People.”

Twenty-six people make up the group, whose president is Mary Karn; treasurer, Jane Kern; and secretary, Susan Meagher.

Previously, the committee recognized “The Boys in Blue” from the Lions Club and “The Girls in Blue,” its auxiliary, whose presidents are Sherwood Mack and Mary Latshaw, respectively.
