The Tamaqua golf team earned a sweep on Wednesday, while Lehighton picked up its first victory of the season.

Tamaqua moved to 4-1 in Schuylkill League play with a sweep of Jim Thorpe and Pottsville in a tri-meet at Mountain Valley.

The Blue Raiders posted a 340-414 win over the Olympians, and recorded a 340-395 victory over the Tide. Jim Thorpe fell to Pottsville, 395-414.

The Blue Raiders’ Lucas Milot carded a 79 to earn medalist honors. Teammates Peter McGinley, Tim Fritzinger and Parker Oswald all recorded 87s.

Brydon Gray led the Olympians (0-4) with a 94.

Lehighton got its first win of the season thanks to a 364-464 non-league victory over East Stroudsburg South.

The Indians’ Trey Spring led all golfers on the day, posting a four-over-par score of 76.

Lehighton improves to 1-2 overall, while ES South drops to 0-2.
