Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register for the 11:30 a.m. instruction sessions. Baptismal class will not be held in August. Overview for prospective new members is held Aug. 28 with Pastor Moore.
Trinity Lutheran Church was built in 1873. A series of events are forming to celebrate this milestone throughout 2023. You are invited to contribute ideas at a planning meeting following worship Aug. 21.
An update on 2017-19 Trinity Vicar Richard Bergen: he accepted a call and is serving St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 470 Church Hill Road, Ferndale, Southeastern Pennsylvania synod. The Rite of Ordination is Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale. Bishop Patricia Davenport presides. There is ample parking. Transportation is on your own. However, if you do plan to go, please RSVP in advance at Trinity, Lehighton, for the host church to be aware of the number of people planning to attend.
