Franklin Township Board of Supervisors discussed several items at their monthly meeting Tuesday.

Trash day which would normally be on Sept. 5 will be moved to Tuesday, Sept. 6, due to the Labor Day holiday.

An electronics recycling event will be held Oct. 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. for Franklin Township residents only. Proof of residency will be required.

A motion was made to approve the CDBG funding from the CARES Act to be allocated to construct a walking path with park benches at Phifer Ice Dam and/or Christmas Field. The township has until May 2023 to use the funds or they will need to be returned to Carbon County. The amount of the funds is $32,000.

A motion was passed to approve a request by the Franklin Township Lions Club to have the Franklin Township Fire Police assist with traffic control at the picnic in the park festivities on Sept. 18 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
