Walnutport Borough Council approved the following items last week:

• 2023 financial requirement and minimum municipal obligation police $92,654 and nonuniform $14,600 (required yearly).

• Resignation of John Kirchner as fire inspector.

• Permission for Discover Lehigh Valley to use the Canal section of the D&L Trail from Main Street north for its half-marathon Nov. 6.

• Trapping permit for Ronald Prutzman.

• Electronic recycling and shredding event will be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 12.

• Walnutport Canal Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 16.

• Sixth Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Dec. 3, with the tree lighting at 5 p.m.
