State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following incidents:

• On July 10 at 9:05 p.m. troopers responded to Route 61 in North Manheim Township, for an assault. A 23-year-old woman from Girardville, reported she was struck in the face by her boyfriend, David Wanser, 30, of Girardville. Wanser fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

• On July 8 at 3:24 p.m. troopers responded to Village Road in West Brunswick Township for a report of terroristic threats. After an investigation Corey Leiby, 52, of Orwigsburg, was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and set bail at $100,000 straight cash. Court records show Leiby posted bond and was released.

• On July 10 at 12:35 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop at Eagle Hill Road and Port Carbon Saint Clair highway in East Norwegian Township of a 2014 Toyota van and container trailer. The driver, Kevin Dolphin, 31, of Minersville, was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

• On June 25 at 1:16 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop at North Sillyman Street and Gordon Nagle Trail, in North Manheim Township, of a 2008 Toyota Rav4. Further investigation revealed the driver, Eugene Ruiz, 41, of New Tripoli, was in possession of methamphetamine. A passenger in the vehicle, not identified by troopers, had a active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Pottsville.

• On June 3 at 10:19 a.m. troopers were dispatched to Maple Boulevard in Deer Lake for a report of a harassment by communication. Upon arrival was discovered that Caryn Kline, 43, of Orwigsburg, contacted the victim, a 49-year-old man from Orwigsburg, over 100 separate times to harass and annoy him.

Kline was issued a non-traffic citation for harassment by communication.

• On July 18 at 11:55 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2008 Jeep at South Front and East Railroad streets, in Saint Clair. The driver, Keith Jenkins, 49, of Saint Clair, was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence and possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.

• On July 12 at 12:07 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2010 Ford Focus at Mall Road and Route 61, in Norwegian Township. A further investigation revealed the driver, Gage Harkins, 22, of Saint Clair, was impaired. He is facing a DUI charge.
