Monroe OKs bids for Ramsey school
The Monroe County Commissioners ratified the bids for the Ramsey School Renovation Project this week.
The county is leasing the former Ramsey Elementary School, in order to move the courthouse offices to Ramsey during the courthouse expansion and renovations.
Bids were:
General Contracting, GC - CMG of Easton, $489,200.
Plumbing, JBM Mechanical Inc., $133,000; Myco Mechanical Inc., $138,000, K.C. Mechanical Services Inc., $146,000.
Mechanical, JBM Mechanical Inc., $419,000; Al’s Refrigeration Inc., $564,499; Myco Mechanical Inc., $494,000: K.C. Mechanical Service Inc., $596,000
Electrical: George Hayden Inc., $557,400; Windgap Electric, $637,700.
A change order was approved for the Courthouse Expansion/Renovation Project: an additional $32,225.78 for Lobar Construction.
The Monroe County Commissioners approved the Amend Motion to allow an increase in the price for the laptops and accessories in the amount of $325. Chairman Sharon Laverdure explained the county office building was in desperate need of new laptops.
The commissioners ratified the opening of bids on July 14 for the purchase of abandoned or confiscated guns in the Sheriff’s Department: Legacy Auction & Realty, $8,777.77; and Jim Thorpe Guns & Ammo, $3,500.
Proclamations were given for Eagle Scouts: Raymond Krezel, Brock Oravec and Colin Smith.
New business
• Carrie Weitz was appointed to the Children & Youth Advisory Board with a term to expire Feb. 9, 2025
The commissioners executed the following Purchase of Service Agreements for the period of July 1 through June 30, 2023.
• Contracts: Bethany Home Inc., d/b/a Bethany Children’s Home, $100,000; The Impact Project Inc., $75,000; Steppingstones Family Services, $45,000; Concern Professional Services for Children, Youth and Families, $200,000.
• Ratified authorization for the chief clerk to advertise the rescheduling of the Aug. 3 election board meeting to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 16.
• The commissioners approved the 2022-2023 Hazardous Materials Response Fund Grant in the amount of $7,651 for the period of July 1 through June 30, 2023 and further authorize the finance director to electronically sign on behalf of the commissioners.
• Commissioners approved submission of an application for reimbursement for a county recycling coordinator used to offset the salary of the recycling coordinator.
