Rescue personnel work to free a heavily entrapped man from the wreckage of his pickup truck that went down an embankment.
The crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. along Route 443 in Mahoning Township.
Fire companies from Mahoning Valley and Lehighton responded to the scene, making the extrication. The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.
Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway and detouring traffic from Seneca Road to Oak Grove.
