Chris Ondrus resigned as president of the Lansford Borough Council last night, but said he will remain on the board. The move was not unexpected as Ondrus announced at the end of the July 3 meeting that he would be stepping down as head of the council.

Succeeding him as the president will be Shawn Nihen, the vice president who was the only one nominated for the post. The new vice president will be Len Alabovitz.

Nihen appointed Ondrus chairman of the Public Works committee and Alabovitz as head of the Public Safety Committee.
