State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes.

• On July 12 at 3:25 p.m. a crash occurred at the intersection of Pohopoco Drive and Pine Run Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Vitoria Valle Da Silva, 19, of Budd Lake, New Jersey, was driving a 2007 Honda CRV southbound on Pine Run Road and failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection with Pohopoco Drive.

She turned left onto Pohopoco Drive directly in front of a 2013 Toyota Corolla operated by James J. Ballough, 41, of Zelienople, Butler County, who was westbound.

No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Valle Da Silva was cited for a stop sign violation.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:43 p.m. on July 10 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Larry W. Smale, 73, of Kunkletown, driving a 2017 Ford Edge, attempted to make a left turn off Scenic Drive onto Dotters Corner Road in front of a 2007 GMC Sierra operated by Adam J. Conklin, 29, of Kunkletown. The GMC struck the Edge in the rear passenger side.

No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.
