An investigation continues after multiple shots were fired in Palmerton Borough Monday evening.
Contacted Tuesday morning, borough police Chief Tim Kromer said the department was dispatched at 7:22 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
Kromer said there was a confrontation between two males in the area of Lehigh Avenue and Fourth Street.
He said there were no injuries, and that both males were taken into custody.
“There’s no threat to the community,” Kromer said. “It’s an active investigation at this time.”
Kromer said officers remained on scene until 10:44 p.m.
He said Pennsylvania State Police, Franklin Township Police Department, Walnutport Police Department and Lehigh Township Police Department assisted on scene.
Kromer said more information will be released once the investigation is completed.
The department posted on its Facebook page around 9 p.m. Monday that “all involved parties are in Palmerton Police Department custody.
“There is no threat to the community. We ask that citizens stay out of the area until the investigation is complete.”
