Thrift sale

Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a one-day summer sale today until 5 p.m. The sale features gently used summer clothing items along with general household items, books and toys. A limited takeout kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. (No checks.) Masks are optional.

Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening praise service at 6:30 p.m. Prayer meeting will be held on July 13 at 7 p.m.

St. Peter’s West Penn

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on June 30 with 24 members in attendance. Secretary Ruthann Feane opened the meeting with the reading “Let Freedom Ring.”

Elba Dannfelser, Nancy Godenis and Melody Weicker were added to the sick list.

The group is planning in indoor picnic in August. Everyone was wished a happy and safe Fourth of July holiday.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Child Evangelism Fellowship has announced dates for Good News Day Camp: June 27-July 1: Tamaqua, Lewistown Valley; July 11-15: Valley View, Valley View Park; July 18-22: Pine Grove, Manbeck’s E.C. Church, Rock; July 25-29: Auburn, Christmas Pine Campground; Aug. 1-5: Ashland, Higher Ups Park (near Pioneer Tunnel).

American Primitive
