July 7, 1979 - John Leffler pitches a four-hitter to help Lehighton gain a 5-1 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over DYC. Leffler allows a first-inning run and then tosses six scoreless frames. He also knocks in the tying run in the third when his single plates Art Dietz, who had tripled. The winners take the lead for good in the fourth on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Dave Stanko. Lehighton adds insurance in the fifth with three runs, two of them scoring on a single by Barry Bollinger.
