Annual Times News Readers’ Choice contest begins
Who makes the best pizza? When you go to breakfast, where do you like to go?
If a pipe bursts in your basement, who are you going to call?
It’s time to nominate your favorite businesses and nonprofits in the 2022 Times News Readers’ Choice contest.
The nomination period opened Friday and runs through July 25.
“As a local business ourselves, we are thrilled to recognize other local businesses,” said Jen Benninger, TN advertising director. “This is a way to honor our neighbors and bring recognition to their hard work.”
The contest is strictly online at tnonline.com/contests.
The contest is broken into nine divisions: auto, entertainment & sports, financial, food and drink, for the home, health, professional and specialty services, shopping and miscellaneous.
You can nominate your choices every 24 hours in many categories, including auto detailing, bakeries, banks, bartenders, campgrounds, fall attractions, florists, fireworks, hot dogs, ice cream, kitchen remodeling, margaritas, pharmacies, tree services, yoga studios and more.
“This year, we have over 225 categories,” Benninger said. “Kayak shop has been added, as well as a number of medical categories.”
By the way, businesses can nominate themselves. There is no fee to submit a nomination.
“Don’t be shy about getting the word out there about your business,” Benninger said. “And if you’d like to promote your business with a reasonably priced ad, we can help with that, too.”
The top five nominees in each category will move on to the voting round that will start on Aug. 8 to determine the best in each category.
The winners will be announced in a special section in October. The Times News also honors the winners at an awards presentation.
“We appreciate the support of local businesses and want to do everything we can to honor them,” Benninger said.
