The Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers, held its Annual Inspire & Lifetime Achievement Awards Gala & Banquet this month at The Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. The Neffs National Bank was awarded the Community Support and Engagement Award for their commitment to serving their local community.

The Neffs National Bank continues to hold its commitment to the local community to a high standard and strives to find new ways to support the local community through funding nonprofit programs, educational programs, and environmental education. Support was given to the local community through providing funds, volunteer hours, hosting drives and community events. In 2021 The Neffs National Bank provided over $185,000 in financial support alone.

Efforts included participating in the EITC program which continues to support nature/outdoor programs, STEAM programs, and funding to public schools, holiday giving to local organizations, a donation to help the neighboring volunteer fire company make much-needed renovations, and funds to assist the local fairgrounds with improvements.

Financial literacy support was made through an educational partnership with Everfi to provide valuable financial education to area students; 53% of the students involved fell into the low to moderate income level.

The Neffs National Bank also held several community events to raise camaraderie and engagement with customers and the public. Events included customer appreciation day as part of Community Banking Month, Dog Days of Summer and Oktoberfest offering free food and fellowship. Numerous item drives throughout the year including a pet item drive for local rescues, food drive, school supply drive, Toys for Tots collection, as well as a blood drive that employees and customers participate in.

Employees and customers also participate in a monthly drive to raise funds for local nonprofits of the employees’ choosing, raising on average $7,000 for the year.

While the pandemic has been a difficult time for many businesses, The Neffs National Bank Commercial department continues to support local business customers with lending options and support.

Beginning in 2022 the Food Truck Friday initiative gave local business customers who owned food trucks the opportunity to reach potential customers by operating out of The Neffs National Bank parking lot, many selling out of product by the end of their day. It also provided the local community with new affordable eating options and has been extremely well-received.

The Neffs National Bank was also a finalist in the Best Digital Marketing category for the recent rebranding, new website design, and social media presence that was expanded in 2021-2022. Follow, like, tag and post on social channels @neffsnatl.
