The Carbon Monarchs picked up a win in baseball action on Thursday.

The Carbon Monarchs pulled away from Emmaus to gain a 9-4 Lehigh Valley Legion victory.

Michael Yeakel delivered an RBI single during a three-run second inning, and also had a run-scoring double during Carbon’s four-run third frame.

Tanner Yurchak knocked in two runs, one with an RBI single in the fourth, while Rich Strack contributed a double, an RBI and two runs. The winners, now 3-6, also received two walks and two runs from Brady O’Donnell.

Matthew Craigie tossed five innings to earn the victory.

Berlinsville outhit Martins Creek, but the Braves ended up dropping a 4-2 Blue Mountain League decision to the Creekers.

Jim Thorpe graduate Noah Snisky had two hits, a stolen base and a run scored for the Braves, who had 10 hits compared to their opponents’ four. Berlinsville (5-7) also received a pair of hits and an RBI from both Owen Fischl and TJ Schmalzle.

Martins Creek was led by Zack Hynes, who had two hits - one a triple - and knocked in two runs. Brandon Smith also chipped in with a double and two RBIs.

Wilson rolled to a 13-0 win over Franklin Township in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action on Wednesday.

Nico Brown was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Wilson, while Gavin Partridge and Francis Thatcher had two hits, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored in the win.

John Light had two hits for Franklin. Derek Behler also collected a double.
