Carbon County’s district court administrator has left to take a similar position in a neighboring county.
On Thursday, Greg Armstrong thanked the commissioners for the chance to work with the county courts over the past five years.
Armstrong has served in this position since October 2016 and is leaving to take the deputy court administrator position in Monroe County.
“I appreciate the chance to work with you and the whole government here on big projects, small projects. We found ways to work together and I really appreciate the friendship and everything it has grown into.”
Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein thanked Armstrong as well and wished him the best on his next endeavor.
“We hate to see you leave but we certainly understand people like to move on and move up,” he said.
Commissioner Rocky Ahner said Monroe is getting “a pretty good guy” and wished him well.
Armstrong’s career in the court operations began in Albright College.
He initially began with the intention of pursuing a law career, but eventually turned his interests to legal administration for the courts.
He later graduated with a master’s in legal administration, court management and went on to intern at the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Armstrong’s replacement was not officially announced at the meeting.
