State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said on May 11 at 1:58 a.m. troopers responded to the Dollar General Store located off Route 895 (Summer Valley Road), in East Brunswick Township, for a reported burglary. A preliminary investigation determined a single person arrived at the front of the store and smashed the front glass doors with a rock.

Once inside the suspect went behind the counter and directly to the secured cigarette glass case. The thief then smashed the glass cover with a hammer and removed only the Newport cigarettes. No other items were taken. Value of the stolen item was $10.56.
