A plan to refurbish the streetscape of downtown Tamaqua in vintage Victorian style was detailed to borough officials by officials of Alfred Benesch and Company.

The presentation was made by John Kweder Jr., senior vice president of the firm.

The project is expected to cost between $2.4 million and $3.1 million and is being funded by a $5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Project grant authorized by then-Governor Mark Schweiker in conjunction with the location of the Lehigh Carbon Community College Morgan Center in Tamaqua.
