A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was killed in a crash 11:14 a.m. Saturday along Route 895 (Fair Road), in South Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Leslie H. Gingrich, 50, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster westbound and attempted to avoid hitting a large depression in the stoned area of the road causing her to lose control and crashing.

Gingrich, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
