Schuylkill County drivers involved in Lehigh crashes

A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a four-vehicle crash that occurred on May 31 at 7:35 p.m. along Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township, Lehigh County.

Lourdanielyn Antonelli, 29, of Bethel, Berks County, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic; Patricia Compton, 54, of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, driving a 2016 Honda Odyssey; Anthony J. Lopez Crespo, 26, of New Philadelphia, driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee; and Satinderbir Singh, 28, of Fresno, California, driving a 2018 Freightliner tractor with trailer, were all westbound.

State police at Fogelsville said Antonelli came to a complete stop as did Compton. Lopez Crespo was unable to stop and collided into the rear of the Odyssey, pushing it into the rear of the Civic. Singh was also unable to stop. His rig hit the rear of the Jeep.

No injuries were reported. Singh and Lopez Crespo were cited for following too closely and Antonelli for registration and certificate of title required.

Another crash involving a Schuylkill County drivers in Lehigh County was reported at 6:34 a.m. on May 4 along Route 309 at the intersection with Decatur Street in Lynn Township.

Troopers said Luis J. Fernandez-Suero, 32, of Allentown, was northbound driving a 2013 Volvo D13 truck while Desiree R. Miller, 44, of McAdoo, driving a 2017 Kia Sportage, and Joseph P. Matukonis, 63, of Tamaqua, driving a 2022 Hyundai Elantra, were southbound.

The Volvo overturned and slid into the southbound lane striking the Kia and pushing it westward off the road. The Hyundai was subsequently struck by the Kia.

Fernandez-Suero and Miller were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, by Cetronia ambulance. Matukonis was not injured.

Fernandez-Suero was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
