Lehighton’s Bartasavage headed to Penn State Schuylkill

Lehighton’s Brittney Bartasavage will continue her academic and athletic careers at Penn State Schuylkill where she will play soccer.

A four-year member of the varsity squad, Bartasavage played forward, midfield and wing for the Indians.

She was a team captain, and all-league selection during her career.

In addition to soccer, Bartasavage also participated in track and field at Lehighton. As a junior, Bartasavage advanced to states in the 100 hurdles with a second-place finish at districts with a time of 15.61.

She broke the school record at the Schuylkill League Championships in the 300 hurdles. Her time was 46.96, breaking the previous record held by her coach, Vanessa Rimbey. At leagues, she placed first in both the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

The daughter of Lisa and Tom Bartasavage, Brittney will study Radiological Sciences at Penn State.
