The investigation continues after the body of a man was found Friday morning in Lehighton.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller confirmed that the body of an older man was found “just downstream from the Ashtown bridge right next to the (Baer Memorial swimming) pool.”

Miller said he was told several workers from Verizon were working on the lines and found it.

He said an autopsy on the body was set to be performed at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Contacted late Friday evening, an officer with the Lehighton Borough Police Department said the matter was still in the early stages of the investigation.
