Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Communion will be included during this service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Women’s Bible Study will meet at the Memorial Hall on Monday evening, June 6 at 6 p.m.
Spring/summer sale
Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a two-day spring/summer sale Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The sale features gently used summer clothing items along with general household items, books and toys. A limited takeout kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. (No checks.) Masks are optional. Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service celebrating 2022 graduates this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening service at 6:30 p.m. June 8 at 7 p.m. is prayer meeting. Upcoming events: June 11 at 6 p.m. concert with Christian comedian Tim Lovelace will be held at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle: Calvary will begin summer services at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle starting on June 12 with Bobby Oravitz, Child evangelism summer missionary with the service beginning at 10:25 a.m.
St. Peter’s West Penn
June 5: 9 a.m. worship service - Celebration of Holy Communion, Confirmation; 10:15 a.m. adult Sunday school; 10:30 a.m. church board meeting.
June 6: 6 p.m. Couples Retreat Planning meeting.
June 12: 9 a.m. worship service, Joyous Noise, 10:15 a.m. adult Sunday school.
Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on May 24 with 46 members in attendance. Members celebrating birthdays in April and May included: Glady Arner, Nancy Godanis, Brenda Zellar, Diane Gould, Lorraine Lupchko and Jayne McLaughlin. A floral arrangement was donated by Lucille Sparr and won by Sharon Miller.
The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. at Christ Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is welcome to attend.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on May 26 with 28 members in attendance. President, Jean Machmer opened the meeting with the reading “Peace.”
Melody Weicker and Marlene and Paul Randig are on the sick list. A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of Memorial Day and all those who sacrificed for our freedom and for the families of the victims of the shooting in Texas.
The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is welcome to attend.
Summer library programs
Summer Story Time: Ages 0-5, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday at 10 a.m. Choose which day to attend;
Ages 6-12; a six week program beginning June 20, 3-4:30 p.m. or 6-7:30 p.m.; Teen Program starting June 17, every other week thereafter.

American Primitive
Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.
There will be no Sunday school until further notice. Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.
