The Senior Farmers’ Market Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will be offered again this year to eligible Carbon County Senior Citizens.
Each person will get vouchers totaling $24 to spend at any farmers’ market or farm stand that participates in the Pennsylvania Farmers’ Market program.
To be eligible, you must be a Carbon County resident age 60 or older by Dec. 31, 2022, and meet the household income guidelines. Total gross annual income must be at or below $25,142 for one person and $33,874 for a two person household. A couple is entitled to $24 each.
Unemployment compensation is counted as income.
Vouchers will not be mailed as they were in the last two years.
All vouchers will be distributed in person only during the scheduled dates, locations and times. There will be no forms to complete prior to pick up. People just need to show their photo ID and sign for their vouchers.
If anyone is picking up for a spouse or someone else, they will have to complete a proxy form and bring it to the distribution site for that person. Proxy forms are available at all Senior Centers and the Area Agency on Aging.
All pick up times are from 1 to 3 and the schedule is as follows:
• June 14, Lehighton Rec Center, 243 S. 8th St.
