A Schuylkill County man was cited after his dog bit the boot of a young boy.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 9:03 a.m. on May 23 along Rock Road in Washington Township. Troopers said Benjamin Reed, 57, of Pine Grove, was cited after his dog left his property and bit the boot of a 10-year-old boy in a neighboring field where children were playing.

He was issued a citation for confinement of dogs/premises. Troopers noted the county dog warden was also notified of the incident.
