May 21, 1974 – Tom Frendak pitches a two-hitter and lines three hits, one of them a three-run double, as Panther Valley finishes its season on a high note with a 22-1 victory over Mount Carmel in a Schuylkill League baseball game played in Lansford. Behind Frendak’s performance, his teammates compile 12 other hits in a 15-hit assault. Jack Corby, Greg Whitehead and Gary Higgins collect half of the other hits with two safeties apiece. Higgins scores three runs, while Whitehead crosses home twice. The Panthers finish their regular season with an 11-6 record.
