– Donald Herman gains the pitching win, allowing five hits in the Yankees’ 6-5 victory over the Giants in a Jim Thorpe Little League game played at McGarvey’s Field. The winners are aided by a three-run double by Bernie Schweibinz in the four-run deciding sixth frame. Herman also helps his own cause with a hit and two runs scored. Charles McGuire suffers the loss for the Giants, who receive an RBI double from Jimmy Strubinger.
