Fire companies receive proceeds from basket raffle

A basket raffle was held recently at the Bowmanstown-Parryville Lions Club Block Shoot.

Proceeds from the basket raffle were designated to be donated to the three volunteer fire companies within the club’s service area: Bowmanstown, Parryville and East Penn.

Representatives from each volunteer fire company attended the club’s regular meeting on Monday, and were presented with a check in the amount of $400 each.

Each representative gave a brief overview of their organization’s current projects and noted any specific needs they hope to address.

In turn, the Bowmanstown-Parryville Lions thanked all of the representatives and their members, noting how very important their volunteer service is to the communities they serve.

The Lions motto is “We Serve,” and through the club’s many fundraising activities, the monies realized are used throughout the year to assist local charities and organizations.

The club is always accepting new members, and anyone who would like to join may contact Loraine Neal at 610-597-1875.
