– Weatherly demonstrates why it is called the Wreckers as it explodes for four runs in the top of the fifth inning to hand Bishop Hafey a 5-3 defeat. Barry Barbush, Billy Hart, Paul Wagner, Barry Whipple, Joe Kurtz, John Lesko and Dave Novitsky all hit safely in the Wrecker attack, which also saw them steal 10 bases. Whipple fires a five-hitter to gain the mound decision.
