A Carbon County driver is facing charges in Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said at 9:52 p.m. on April 25 troopers initiated a traffic stop at North Railroad Street and Schuylkill Avenue in Tamaqua.
The driver of the vehicle, a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup, failed to stop and a pursuit began that ended south of Route 54 in Nesquehoning, where the Ranger became inoperable. The driver ran but was apprehended and taken into custody.
He was identified as Brian Boner, 60, of Nesquehoning. He appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol. He was found in possession of controlled substance and alcohol.
He submitted to a blood test. He was charged with felony 3 fleeing or attempting to elude police and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offenses of driving while license suspended and careless driving. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
