Audrey Borgia, 11, of Palmerton R.1, a sixth-grader at the Towamensing Elementary School, was the top prize winner of the Earth Day poster contest sponsored by the Palmerton Citizens for a Clean Environment.

Her entry was of a sad-eyed, polluted globe pleading for help and was one of 75 entered in the contest.

Also winning awards were Austin Rex, St. John Neumann School, second place; Tiffany Costenbader, S.S. Palmer School, third place; and Joseph Trinkle, St. John Neumann, Dorothy Wheaton, Towamensing, and Cassandra Drovich, S.S. Palmer, honorable mentions.
