State police at the Bethlehem barracks were called Airport Road in the City of Bethlehem at 11:07 a.m. April 12 where they were told an unknown person attempted to collect unemployment compensation benefits using a 74-year-old Northampton man’s information.
Police said the victim lives along Cherryville Road in Allen Township.
State police are also investigating an identity theft/theft by deception case reported at 3 p.m. March 19.
As a 56-year-old man who lives along Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township, said an unknown person used his personal identifying information to open a Bank of America checking account.
